LDS Marriage Counseling in Englewood A safe space to (re)discover who you are as a couple in Englewood.

LDS couples are bombarded by so many messages about sex and intimacy: on magazine coves at the grocery store, on TV and radio, from friends, on the internet and social media, and across the pulpit.

We can help you rekindle your loving connection and bring back the spark in your sex life. Englewood Mormon marriage counseling may be the answer.

Littleton Couples Counseling offers both in-office/in-person and Zoom/teletherapy counseling appointments to accommodate your busy schedule, with offices both in Littleton and in the DTC. Littleton Couples Counseling provides Englewood LDS sex therapy in communities throughout Denver, DTC, Cherry Hills Village, WashPark, Cherry Creek, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Lakewood, Englewood, Parker, Castle Rock, Castle Pines, Evergreen, Morrison, Greenwood Village, Centennial, Thornton, Arvada, Golden, and surrounding areas.

We have found that empathy, reflective listening, curiosity, and atunement foster communication both in the therapy room and throughout your life— fostering closeness as a couple. These tools build communication, increases trust and closeness, and allow us to help couples talk to each in new ways. After several visits, a client told me he heard himself say “and the story I am telling myself is you don’t care about what I think.” When you can share your thoughts and tell the story that you tell yourself, your partner can either confirm the message or reassure you that it is not true. No matter how much we value our partner, they are not mind readers.

Attachment

At times, you may feel attacked by your partner. Other times, you may feel alone, abandoned, or uncared for. Some clients feel like their partner pushes their buttons on purpose or places greater importance on their calling in Englewood. These actions may not be cognitive decisions to make you miserable: they could be coming from an attachment model learned during your partner’s childhood. Fostering an empowering attachment style with greater security may shift an entire relationship. We help you foster secure attachments.

Trust

The common perception of a breach of trust is often presented as a major event like infidelity. A breach of trust can be something as simple as not following through on a small commitment. It’s the little things. Brené Brown talks of the marble jar of trust. Every small positive act can drop a marble in the jar. But a single faux pas can dump them all out and threaten communication and intimacy. We provide a safe space to explore and discuss issues and struggles surrounding trust.

What happened to forever?

You made promises and covenants. You wanted to make a forever relationship. Everything started so wonderfully... then your lives happened.

Many LDS couples find it difficult to connect and communicate. Do you feel like you have become just roommates and the kids or callings come first? At different times, many couples struggle with sex and intimacy. Sometimes one partner feels lonely, unseen, or unheard— sealed for eternity but separated for life! Some partners may feel taken for granted. Couples sometimes report having the same fight over and over again, but cannot reach a solution— and they want help.

A fulfilling sex life is a multifaceted goal, with the physical act being only one ingredient. Do you want to rekindle your loving connection and bring back the spark in your sex life? Sex therapy may be the answer. When couples enjoy a deep connection along with a fulfilling sex life, they have established the foundation of a solid relationship that is built to last an eternity. LDS marriage counseling can help.

Rebuilding the couple bubble

In the early days, it was just you and your partner. Then came the kids and callings, and making time for— and with— each other became more difficult. We work together to re-establish your boundaries as a couple— the couple bubble— and provide a framework to protect and nurture your relationship. Make time for the two of you, and everything else can be more cohesive and fulfilling in Englewood.

It all begins with communication

Littleton Couples Counseling employs numerous modalities from an attachment-based perspective including EFT, and Gottman Couples therapy. Trauma may be addressed by EMDR therapy. Not every therapeutic approach works for every client, and our expertise in Experiential Therapy and Family/Marital Therapy combined with narrative, relational, and person-centered therapy allows us to craft a living, unique solution as individual as you are. Don’t put off the health of you and your relationship.

I’ve had a project sitting on my desk for several months and I’ve been pecking at it. Usually I will open the file, take a look, edit a note or two, then close the file. After all, it’s not due for another month. In clinical parlance, I find the project in the “not now” and it doesn’t exist. Three weeks from now it will slip into the “now” and it will rise in importance.

I teach there are four types of tasks: yellow, red, blue, and green. Yellow tasks are the ones you really don’t like doing and they deplete you emotionally and physically, and they’re not past due...
